Jumping Beans Holiday Programme
Safe, creative, nourishing holiday support for children aged 5–11.
Jumping Beans gives children a safe place to learn, play, eat well, build confidence, and flourish when school is closed.
About the Programme
Jumping Beans is Children With Voices’ holiday programme for primary-aged children, providing a safe, welcoming, and nurturing space during school breaks.
More than childcare, the programme supports working families while helping children learn, play, eat well, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. Through creative activities, movement, nutrition education, and emotional wellbeing support, Jumping Beans gives children a place to flourish when school is closed.
What We Offer
Jumping Beans brings together practical support, creative learning, and community care. Each session is designed to help children feel safe, included, active, and supported.
Children learn about food, healthy choices, and nourishment in a practical, age-appropriate way.
Activities encourage imagination, self-expression, confidence, play, and physical activity.
Children are supported in a calm, nurturing environment where they can feel safe, listened to, and valued.
The programme helps reduce barriers for families who need trusted support during school breaks.
Sessions are supported by caring staff and volunteers who understand the local community.
The Need
Many families in Hackney face a lack of affordable and accessible holiday provision. For children, this can mean fewer opportunities to learn, socialise, eat well, and stay active during school breaks.
Jumping Beans helps close that gap by providing structured, inclusive, and enriching holiday support for children aged 5–11.
Without structured activities during the holidays, some children risk losing confidence, routine, and opportunities to keep learning.
Many children rely on school meals during term time. Holiday provision helps ensure children continue to receive nourishing food when school is closed.
Safe group activities give children opportunities to build friendships, communication skills, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
For parents and carers, school holidays can create added financial, practical, and emotional pressure. Accessible holiday provision gives families trusted support when they need it most.
Open to Everyone
Jumping Beans is designed to be accessible for every family. Children With Voices is committed to reducing barriers to participation so that children can benefit regardless of financial background.
The programme is free for children on Free School Meals, with a suggested donation of £10 per day for families who are able to contribute. Parent volunteers are also welcomed, helping strengthen community connection while supporting delivery.
No child should be excluded from safe, enriching holiday support because of cost, circumstance, or background.
No family should face a barrier because of cost.

Future Vision
Looking Ahead
To grow Jumping Beans and meet the needs of more families, Children With Voices is working towards securing a dedicated space for holiday provision and wider learning support.
A reliable space would allow the programme to run more consistently, provide children with a familiar and safe environment, and create more opportunities for enrichment, mentoring, nutrition, wellbeing, and alternative education support beyond the school holidays.
Inclusion is not a strategy to help people fit into the systems and structures which exist in our societies; it is about transforming those systems and structures to make it better for everyone.
