connection, and hope for the whole family.

We believe access to good food is a right, not a privilege. Our doors are open to every
family that needs us, with no forms, no judgment, and no barriers.

Our Community Impact

Community Food Hub impact in Hackney

Children With Voices provides community food support in Hackney, helping local children, families and residents access fresh food, essential items and practical support in a welcoming environment. Our Community Food Hub works to tackle food insecurity while strengthening connections across the local community.

Based on recorded Food Hub activity from 2022 to August 2026, Children With Voices has distributed more than 91,000 meals, recorded over 20,000 community visits and supported more than 5,400 household visits through its food distribution activities.

In 2026 alone, between January and August, our records show more than 28,000 meals distributed, over 3,600 community visits and more than 1,600 child visits.

The Community Food Hub forms part of Children With Voices’ wider work supporting children and families across Hackney and East London. Alongside food distribution, the Hub provides opportunities for food education, community support, volunteering and connection, with support available without judgement or unnecessary barriers.

About these figures: Impact statistics are based on recorded Food Hub activity. Community, household and child figures represent recorded visits rather than unique individuals.

Food Justice, Not Just Charity

“The Food Hub is built around respect. Every family who walks through our doors deserves
dignity, not judgment. Every person we serve is an expert in their own life. We work with
communities, not above them.”

Partnership

Built With the Community

We are committed to collaborating with families as equal partners,
respecting community insight and lived experience to shape initiatives
that create meaningful and lasting progress.

The Food Hub is not a top-down service. It is shaped by the people it
serves — their needs, their knowledge, their strengths, and their vision
for a fairer community.

We provide fresh produce, surplus food, and pantry essentials. We also offer parent workshops, community events, food education, and signposting to local support services.

Can I donate food?

Yes. We welcome fresh produce, non-perishable goods, and essential household items. Please contact us to arrange a donation drop-off.

Can organisations partner with the Food Hub?

Absolutely. We work with local businesses, schools, faith groups, and community organisations on surplus food rescue, workshops, and community support.

How can I volunteer?

We welcome volunteers for food sorting, distribution, community sessions, and events. No specific experience is needed — just a willingness to help and a kind approach.
