The Community Food Hub at Children With Voices runs because of people like you.
This is an entry-level co-op role. No previous experience or formal qualifications are required, just a willingness to get involved and support Hackney families.
You will work alongside a warm and welcoming team, helping ensure every family leaves with what they need and feels respected and valued.
What you’ll be doing
- Sort and organise food donations as they arrive.
- Pack food parcels carefully and accurately.
- Help set up and pack down the co-op space.
- Welcome community members and help them feel at home.
- Assist with basic stock checks and flag low supplies.
- Keep the co-op floor clean, tidy and organised.
- Follow food hygiene and health and safety guidance.
What you’ll bring
Essential
- A friendly, warm and non-judgemental approach.
- A willingness to support practical, hands-on tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic food hygiene awareness or willingness to complete training.
- Kindness and respect towards families and team members.
Helpful but not essential
- Experience at a food bank, community kitchen or similar setting.
- A Level 1 or Level 2 food hygiene certificate.
- Additional languages.
- Experience supporting families or community programmes.
